These study groups focus on specific topics from the Body-Mind Centering® material. Each module is offered both online and in-person (in Portland, OR), and similar explorations will be offered in each format.
Signing up for a study group means you can participate in a variety of ways:
- only online (Thursdays 9-10:30am Pacific Time)
- only in-person (Fridays 2-3:30pm Pacific Time)
- both online and in person.
Online sessions will be recorded and available for the duration of that particular study group.
Cellular/Subcellular System IN-PERSON & ONLINE - Full Series (5 sessions in-person, 5 online)
This payment option gives you access to both the in-person Study Group sessions on Friday afternoons, and optionally also the online sessions on Thursdays (as well as the recordings of those sessions, for a limited time). DEVELOPING PATTERNS: FOUNDATIONS OF MOVEMENT
Developing Patterns - ARRIVING: December 5-6, 2026
ARRIVING This workshop will focus on the experiences a baby might have in their first month of life, learning to process and integrate new sensations and movement possibilities. No previous experience with developmental movement or Body-Mind Centering® is required – just an interest in learning about movement patterns and a willingness to explore your own movement choices!

Developing Patterns - FROM ARRIVING TO MIDLINE: January 30-31, 2027
FROM ARRIVING TO MIDLINE This workshop will focus on the experiences a baby might have as they develop a sense of midline in the first 3 or 4 months of life. We will explore how midline is a part of skills like rolling, crawling and walking for babies of all ages! No previous experience with developmental movement or Body-Mind Centering® is required – just an interest in learning about movement patterns and a willingness to explore your own movement choices!

Developing Patterns - FROM MIDLINE TO ROLLING: March 13-14, 2027
FROM MIDLINE TO ROLLING This workshop will focus on how we build on a sense of midline to organize the small falls and other skills that are needed for rolling - both supine to prone (back to front) and prone to supine (front to back). These skills develop between 3 months and 7 or 8 months of age, and are a foundation for sitting, belly crawling and crawling on hands and knees. No previous experience with developmental movement or Body-Mind Centering® is required – just an interest in learning about movement patterns and a willingness to explore your own movement choices!

Developing Patterns - FROM ROLLING TO CRAWLING: May 8-9, 2027
FROM ROLLING TO CRAWLING This workshop will focus on how the weight-shifting skills of rolling can layer and weave together into bigger level changes and locomotive patterns: the transitions into sitting, belly-crawling and hands and knees crawling. These skills often overlap with exploring standing up (and getting back down), and usually develop between 7 months and 10-12 months of age. No previous experience with developmental movement or Body-Mind Centering® is required – just an interest in learning about movement patterns and a willingness to explore your own movement choices!

Developing Patterns - FROM CRAWLING TO WALKING: June 5-6, 2027
FROM CRAWLING TO WALKING This workshop will focus on exploring the ways that standing, cruising and independent walking can arise from earlier experiences of midline and small falls, of rolling and weight-shifting and transitions into and out of sitting and crawling. Crawling to walking (with all that goes in-between) might happen from 10 months to 18 - 24 months. No previous experience with developmental movement or Body-Mind Centering® is required – just an interest in learning about movement patterns and a willingness to explore your own movement choices!

Developing Patterns - ALL FIVE WORKSHOPS
From the moment we arrive at our birth (and even before), we are learning to move – our experiences, body sensations, reflexes and integrative processes are continually creating patterns that help us find safety, comfort and curiosity. This series of workshops, informed by a Body-Mind Centering® approach to developmental movement, will explore some of our earliest learning times in the context of our adult bodies: the developmental process of moving from birth to walking. No previous experience with developmental movement or Body-Mind Centering® is required – just an interest in learning about movement patterns and a willingness to explore your own movement choices!
